No.1 Probus Club of Trowbridge was established in 1971 and soon established a very healthy membership of 75. The club adopted a monthly meeting where members gather at 12.00 for a 12.30 lunch on the second Wednesday of every month. Business is concluded shortly after the meal and is then followed by a guest speaker. Since August 2017 meetings have been held at the Cumberwell Golf Club near Bradford on Avon.

With a current Membership of 40 the club is always open and welcoming of member’s guests and seeks to increase membership where possible.

In addition to our monthly meetings throughout the year visits and excursions are organised to various places of interest which members and their wives/partners and guests, including widows of past members, can attend.

Although the club is established as gentlemen only wives and partners are also involved. In addition to the excursions our ladies are invited to a Christmas Lunch (celebrated in January!) and a late summer gathering in the September of each year
