General
The club was formed on 24th November 1972 as a service to the community by the Rotary Club of St Neots.
The founder President of the Club was Mr George E Mighall and the inaugural luncheon was held on 3rd January 1973 at the Bridge Hotel, St Neots.
The club is a non-profit making forum for the social intercourse of like-minded retired or semi-retired professionals.
The club meets on the first Wednesday of every month for a luncheon, where members, associate members and their partners have a chance to catch up with colleagues and enjoy good food. The dates and times are shown on the Social Programme for the relevant year, accessed at the bottom of this page.
Luncheons are currently held in the St Neots Rugby Union Football Club, New Street, St Neots PE19 1RU.
In addition the Club holds a number of social functions/outings throughout the year (these have in the past included coach trips, visits to places of interest and local attractions).
There are four special monthly luncheons throughout the year these are The Spring Carvery in April, The Anniversary Luncheon in May, the Autumn Carvery in October and the Christmas Luncheon in December. In addition are the very popular Strawberry Tea (normally held in June) and Barbecue (normally held in August).
The Club also hosts a coffee morning on the third Wednesday of each month (to which partners are warmly invited) in the St Neots Rugby Football Club. The dates and times are shown on the Social Programme for the relevant year, accessed at the bottom of this page.
Members are expected to attend at least 50% of the monthly luncheons in order to maintain the viability of the club and event.
